Building Breast Milk from the Ground Up

carter | April 6, 2022 | 9:33 pm

As we all know, breast milk is the best source of nutrition for any infant. As such, the goal of every infant formula is to be as close to breast milk as possible. Other formulas take cow’s milk as their nutritional basis and try to adjust it to bring it closer to breast milk. Harmony is taking a different approach. We are replacing the dependence on cow’s milk by building our formula from the ground up upon breast milk components. By using breast milk identical proteins, human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), lactose, and other important breast milk components in favor of their cow’s milk substitutes, Harmony Infant Formula has a much higher resemblance to breast milk than any other formula, especially the hypoallergenic ones.

The first version of Harmony Infant Formula is 64% biosimilar to breast milk. As we develop our technology further, we will be able to incorporate more and more breast milk components, thus driving the resemblance even higher with later versions of Harmony. By using proteins and components that are bioidentical to those found in breast milk to make up the nutritional basis, our formula’s natural elements are perfectly designed by nature to feed a growing human infant, while those found in cow’s milk are designed for a calf. Due to its high resemblance to breast milk, Harmony’s complete formula shares many of the tremendous benefits seen in breast milk, such as providing top-level nutrition, being naturally hypoallergenic and easy to digest, and promoting a healthy microbiome, among many others.
